John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. is a judge of the Cook Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. After approximately 6 years in the State’s Attorney’s Office, John became the owner and founder of The Law Office of John Fitzgerald Lyke, Jr. where his office concentrated on Criminal Defense and Civil Rights. John, along with Larry Rogers, Sr., represented Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Father Michael Plegler after their arrest for trespassing in Riverdale. For 15 years, John successfully represented thousands of poor and disadvantaged clients. In July 2015, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed John to the Circuit Court of Cook County. Additionally, he was a part-time Professor for Harold Washington College where he taught Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, Criminal Law, and Procedure and Constitutional Law.
